It sports all the characters and levels and allows for multiplayer, while looking and sounding impressive. To grab a Japanese NTSC version of the game, look no further than this Final Fight CD auction. Jet Pac (ZX Spectrum)

A rarely excellent and actually rare game for your Interface 2 equipped ZX Spectrum:  Jet Pac by Ultimate Play The Game. It's the complete, boxed, cartridge version of the game that's being auctioned and the seller is shipping only within the UK.

Wing Commander: Privateer (DOS)

Though not as vast as any of the Elite games, Wing Commander: Privateer is a brilliant open-world space exploration/trading/fighting game, that -unlike Elite- sports a deep storyline and impressive for the time VGA graphics. Having played it again less than a month ago I can also attest to the fact that Privateer hasn't aged just yet, and still comes in a big, impressive box.

You can grab one of said boxes via this Privateer (PC) auction. The game comes on six 3.5" inch disks (also easy to install CDs for contemporary PCs) and is accompanied by the manual, install guide, an Origin catalog and all sorts of pamphlets and cards. Seller ships worldwide with the exception of Africa, Mexico and certain Asian countries.

Panasonic Game Cube Q

What with the GameCube's lack of support for DVDs, Panasonic felt it had to license Nintendo's technology and launch the rare and lovely looking Panasonic Game Cube Q; a version of the console that also plays DVDs and was exclusively released in Japan. Happily, you can now grab a complete boxed Game Cube Q with controller, remote, manual and everything via eBay and have the seller ship it anywhere on the world.

The Sord M5 "Creative Computer"

The Sord M5 8-bit micro was manufactured in Japan and released back in 1982. Despite having the support of Namco and Konami it was only moderately successful and hence quite rare these days. You can find more about it here and here.

Interestingly an essentially new, boxed Sord M5 has surfaced on eBay. The original package on offer contains the computer, the power supply, the BASIC cartridge, a Baseball game tape, the User's Guide and all the required cables. Seller ships worldwide.

Arch Rivals - The Arcade Game (MegaDrive)

Before NBA Jam there was Arch Rivals and right after that there was the Arch Rivals port to Sega's 16-bit console, which you can now buy via this Arch Rivals (MegaDrive) auction. It's the complete boxed version of the madcap basketball game for the PAL MegaDrive and the seller ships worldwide.

Hard Drivin' (Atari Lynx)

Atari's stunt-centered, coin-op racer, the venerable Hard Drivin', was rather impressively ported to the Atari Lynx and you can now, after all those years, buy a bargain priced copy of the thing via this Hard Drivin' (Lynx) auction. The 3D graphics still look lovely on that tiny screen and the seller ships worldwide.

Sega Dreamcast Collection Bundle

The Sega Dreamcast, the brilliant and innovative 128-bit console that almost made it, remains one of the best platforms to collect for and play excellent arcade ports on. If you are looking to start a Dreamcast collection and can have things shipped to a UK address look no further than this amazing Sega Dreamcast lot. You'll be bidding on a PAL console, four controllers, three VMUs, all required cables and bits,  modem cable & software, an arcade stick, two vibration packs, spare parts, extra stuff and 13 games. Everything comes complete in its box.

Among the included games you'll find: Shenmue, Grandia II, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Soul Calibur and Sega Rally Championship.

Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards (Amiga)

The debut of Al Lowe's lovable (and rather creepy) loser is (in)famous for being one of the first mainstream games to dabble with adult humour and imply sex; it also is a truly classic and properly funny adventure game that Retro Treasures seems to enjoy every few years.  Oh, and you can buy a complete copy of it via this Larry 1 for the Amiga auction. It's the complete boxed game with all the goodies and the seller ships mostly worldwide.

eBay Rampage: Sega Game Gear

Sega's Game Gear was the first handheld device to ever play a Sonic game and, for that alone, you should love it. Interestingly, it also was a powerful and power hungry console that had an excellent selection of games and add-ons released for it, and is a joy to collect for and play on. So, here are the most intriguing Game Gear offerings currently available on eBay:

Complete white Sega Game Gear. Worldwide, Buy It Now.

Barbie Game Gear prototype. Worldwide, ends 1 Jun. 2014.

NINKU limited edition Game Gear (boxed). Americas, Europe, Australia, Asia, ends 28 May 2014.

One NES, eight games

If you've been on the look out for a (NTSC/US) Nintendo Entertainment System, do have a look at this NES & games auction. It's a complete, working system with two controllers, comes with a small but fine selection of games including Solar Jetman, Super Mario Bros. 2 and Shadowgate, and it seems it will be quite a bargain price-wise. Seller ships mostly worldwide.

Life & Death (Atari ST)

Life & Death is an almost serious attempt at simulating the life (and works) of your average surgeon and can thus be rather demanding and confusing at the beginning. Things do, of course, soon start making sense and get way more interesting as you progress, though the sadistic joke of operating without anesthesia never gets old.

Anyway. If you own an Atari ST, you can now grab a lavishly boxed copy of Life & Death via eBay. It comes complete with manual, gloves, mask and everything, but above all with the hilariously written and historically accurate The History of  Surgery. Seller ships to the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Magnavox Odyssey 2

I always liked both the way the Maganvox Odyssey 2 looked and how it combined an 8-bit console with a home micro styled keyboard. Also, a lovely, working, boxed Odyssey 2 has been put up for auction and is accompanied by three boxed games. Better grab it, then... Seller ships to more than a few places around the globe.

Sega 32X & Star Wars Arcade

The timing was simply wrong, but Sega's 32X add-on for the Genesis is a lovely way of upgrading your 16-bit Sega console, what with its two RISC processors, the powerful graphics chip, the improved sound and the extra memory. Sadly, the console flopped and only 40 games supporting it were released.

To play with one, you could do much worse than bidding on this boxed Sega 32X. It the US Genesis version, it comes complete in its box and is accompanied by the rather brilliant Star Wars Arcade (boxed, complete) cartridge. Seller ships mostly worldwide.

Boxed Tatung Einstein 256

The Tatung Einstein 256, one of the rarest and most coveted 8-bit micros ever produced, has made another appearance on eBay and you can bid on it here. Seller ships worldwide and -in most cases & if you go for surface shipping- for no extra charge.

Space Quest I, II, IV and V (PC)

One for the Roger Wilco school of comedy fans: Space Quest I, II, IV & V on eBay. Yes, that's four Space Quest games from the golden Sierra years complete in four hefty, colourful and goodies-filled boxes for your MS-DOS PC. Sid Meier's Civilization (Amiga 1200)

The turn-based strategy game that started it all, Sid Meier's Civilization by Microprose (Amiga 1200 version), is up for auction in its original box, complete with hefty manual and all four disks. The seller is shipping worldwide, which is apt considering  Civilization is the sim that lets you guide all of humankind to the stars (or, uhm, nuclear annihilation, but let's ignore that).

Original, sealed Nintendo GameBoy

This boxed and sealed GameBoy auction is both straightforward and bound to get very expensive. Then again, people do tend to love their unopened consoles in their well preserved packages and this particular Basic Set including Nintendo's famous handheld seems to be in excellent condition. Seller ships (mostly) worldwide.

Boxed Atari 7800 & 26 games

The Atari 7800 did many things right: it was compatible with the 2600, could produce some really good 8-bit graphics, came with a modest price tag and radically improved the 5200's atrocious controllers. It did thus sell decently too and even has a lively homebrew community to this very day.

Retro gamers and collectors interested in getting into the 7800 should look no further than this amazing Atari 7800 & games auction. It's for the complete, boxed, PAL version of the console (with cables, manuals, 2 controllers etc), 15 boxed 7800 games and 11 boxed 2600 games. Seller ships only within the UK.

Time Zone by Online Systems (Apple II)

Time Zone retailed for $99.95 back in 1982 and, possibly due to said exorbitant price, didn't do that well saleswise. On the other hand, it was a huge and very interesting graphical/text-adventure by Roberta Williams and Online Systems (Sierra) that had gamers explore 7 time zones and 7 regions. It's also highly collectible.

Also here's the rare Time Zone (Apple II) on eBay for you to bid on. It's the boxed version of the game, that comes complete with all the disks and the manual. As an added bonus, you'll also be getting a copy of The Book Of Adventure Games.

Seller ships to the US, Canada, UK, Denmark, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Estonia, Australia, Greece, Portugal, Cyprus, Slovenia, Japan, China, Sweden, Korea, South, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, Belgium, France, Hong Kong, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria, Russian Federation, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, UAEmirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Croatia and Malaysia.

Fully boxed Acorn Electron collection

The affordable version of the BBC Micro, the excellent Acorn Electron, has appeared on another auction, though this time both it and all its extras are boxed and lovely and you can bid on everything via this Acorn Electron link. You'll be getting the complete, boxed micro, the equally boxed cassette deck, the boxed Introductory Cassette and a sealed collection of games that includes Snapper, Starship Command and Boxer.

Seller ships worldwide, excluding Russia, China, Italy, Singapore and Sri Lanka.

Apidya by Team 17 (Amiga)

Apidya is one of the most beautiful shoot-'em-ups for the Amiga, a thematically unique game and, well, it really hasn't aged a day. It's as much fun blowing those evil insects today as it was (over) 20 years ago. Also, here's a lovely Apidya (Amiga) auction. It's for the complete boxed and allegedly unplayed copy, complete with manual, catalog and the two 3.5" disks in a sealed plastic pack. Seller ships, for the most part, worldwide.

Night Trap (Sega CD)

The controversial though tame Night Trap for the Sega CD is currently being auctioned over at eBay and is available only for US residents. Interestingly, it is the rarer (cardboard) boxed version of the game and it seems to be complete. Still not a very good FMV game, mind you, but an offering with definite historical importance.

The odd, disc-driven SB2000 Famiclone

Now, I frankly cannot tell you much about this incredibly weird SB2000 Famiclone that recently appeared on eBay and cannot even be sure whether it really is retro or not. What I do though know is that what you see above is a wildly intriguing Nintendo Famicom compatible clone that comes with a disc-drive, keyboard, mouse, cartridge slot and its very own BASIC. It essentially is a Famicom-powered 8-bit micro you can find out more about here.

The particular console on offer comes complete in its box and appears to be actually new. Mouse, keyboard, a couple of controllers, all required leads, manuals, floppy discs and power supply are handily included. Seller ships worldwide.

The games included will run happily on any PC from 1994 and are accompanied by 3 hint books, a hefty manual, the foldout map and lovably retro advertisement booklets.

Seller ships (mostly) worldwide.

Mattel Intellivision & games

Originally released in 1979 Mattel's Intellivision went on to sell roughly 3 million consoles during the early '80s and become a fondly remembered games machine that sported an ancient 16-bit CPU and many great games. Happily you too can now own one via this Mattel Intellivision auction, whose seller is kind enough to ship worldwide.

The console comes complete in its box and is in a clean and fully working condition. It also comes with a couple games: Backgammon and Poker & Blackjack.

The Heist (Apple II)

The Heist, a proper 8-bit classic with wonderful cover art, can rather obviously be grabbed via this The Heist (Apple II) auction. It's the complete boxed version for the Apple II with manual, 5.25" disc and everything. Seller ships (mostly) worldwide.

One lovable Amstrad CPC 6128

This one's an auction exclusively for people who can have stuff shipped to a UK address, but one can't help but wonder what pleading can achieve... Anyway, here's said lovely Amstrad CPC 6128 auction I'm referring to and, working micro with colour monitor aside, it will also get you the manual, several 3" discs and a joystick.

Ultima III: Exodus (C64)

A factory sealed copy of Ultima III: Exodus for the Commodore 64 is a thing of beauty; a thing of beauty you can bid on and hope for the best. This wonderful RPG comes boxed with all sorts of goodies, including a cloth map and a couple of magic books. Seller ships worldwide.

The entire Jupiter ACE project (including the brand itself) up for grabs!

So, first thing first, here's the link to the utterly impressive Jupiter Ace auction on eBay. And just to round things up, here's a link to to the official Jupiter Ace website, where you'll get all the details on what's on offer and see whether the £10,000 starting bid is something worth considering.

Now, assuming you are either a museum, a historical society or a start-up with a mad plan and can afford such things, you'll have to know that the Jupiter Ace was a very ambitious and quite frankly brilliant 8-bit micro from the early '80s that failed to sell well and has become incredibly rare and collectible. Of note is the fact that the Ace's Sinclair-bred designers decided to use the much faster and more advanced Forth language instead of BASIC.

As for the auction itself, well, it'll get you all that is left from the company, including all rights and permissions to the Jupiter Ace brand, hardware and software. You'll also get all the original development tapes in the briefcase pictured above, another 90 tapes of masters and unpublished stuff, even more software filled tapes, a complete working Jupiter Ace with a 16k RAM pack, one 3k Jupiter Ace,  an empty case moulding, documents, games, promotional material and a ton more.

Seller ships worldwide.

Timex Sinclair 1000 (Boxed)

The American cousin of the ZX81, the Timex Sinclair 1000, was a modestly successful and elegantly tiny 8-bit micro that was released back in 1982 and sported 2 kilobytes of RAM. A boxed specimen has surfaced on eBay and you can buy it via this Timex Sinclair 1000 auction. The computer comes complete with polys and accessories in its box and the seller is shipping worldwide.

STOS: The Game Creator (Atari ST)

STOS: The Game Creator was a truly affordable game creation suite by Mandarin Software, that allowed the average Atari ST user to produce (and publish) almost any kind of game he/she cared to via a selection of smart tools, fine documentation and a BASIC-like language. You can grab a complete, boxed version of STOS via this eBay auction. Seller ships only within the UK.

Ballblazer (C64/Atari 8-bit)

Released back in 1984 by Lucasfilm and published by Epyx, Ballblazer didn't foreshadow the company's classic adventures, but does remain a fun and technically impressive futuristic sports game that's both collectible and historically significant. It was after all the very first game developed by Lucasfilm.

Also, here's a lovely Ballblazer eBay auction. It's all about a well preserved boxed copy of the game, that comes complete with its manual and the double-sided disk that will let you run it on either an Atari 8-bit micro or the Commodore 64. Seller ships worldwide.

Infocom Invisiclues: Cutthroats & Seastalker

Two classic Invisiclues hint books by Infocom that have remained unopened for 30 years and come with their magic markers are quite the adventure collector's dream. Happily, they are not exorbitantly priced either (not at the time of writing, at least) and you can grab them both via this Cutthroats & Seastalker Invisiclues auction. Seller ships worldwide.
